Peloni: In addressing the importance of keeping the Straight of Hormuz open, Trump needs to solve the riddle of how to deal with the some 200,000 people whose very lives depend on the regime surviving this war, while also resolving the Gordian Knot regarding the lack of any organized opposition within Iran to transform what were protests into what is needed, ie an organized popular uprising. While Trump currently commands some 90% of support in the US to see the war through to victory, these are the challenges needed to gain that victory. The windfall of success in this war is enormous, but so too would be the catastrophe of failure, and the defining line between these two begins with the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, but it doesn’t end there.
