The Survival Imperative

by Victor Rosenthal   January 31, 2023

It has been this way since our ancestors started walking upright, maybe before that. Two tribes struggle over a piece of land. One will prevail and the other will be defeated. One will remain in the land and the other will not. The loser will be destroyed, expelled, dispersed, or absorbed. Usually, the loser of such a conflict disappears from history.

NATO is doubling down rather than de-escalating

T. Belman,  What’s in it for the US or the EU for that matter? Russia is no threat to them. The only reason they are doubling down is because they want to destroy Russia which has been their goal since the fall of the USSR.

Russia isn’t the imperialist here, the US is.

Sickening humbug over Israeli massacre

The west’s liberal hypocrites have Jewish blood on their hands

By MELANIE PHILLIPS

Jubilant Palestinian Arabs celebrate their latest murder of Israeli Jews

Seven Israeli Jews were murdered outside a Jerusalem synagogue on Friday night, the start of the Jewish sabbath, in the working class orthodox neighbourhood of Neve Ya’akov. Several others who were wounded remain in hospital.

As is commonplace among Palestinian Arabs after they have murdered Israeli civilians, jubilant celebrations broke out in their communities with fireworks, celebratory gunfire, hooting car-horns and crowds chanting in support of the killing of Jews.

The Israeli-Arab Conflict Is About The Presence of Jews, Not the “1967 Borders”

First.One.Through Jan 30,2023

The Arab-Israeli conflict gets so much ink and analysis because the region is always in flux.

Yet some things remain constant.

The Israelis and Palestinian Arabs poll themselves frequently about sentiments on a variety of topics. Occasionally, they conduct joint polls as occurred on January 24, 2023. The Palestinian Center of Policy and Survey Research (PCPSR) and Tel Aviv University’s International MA Program in Conflict Resolution and Mediation (Israeli Pulse) issued their report as Palestinians and Israelis engaged in a series of attacks. The joint poll is another tool to assess how Israeli Jews, Israeli Arabs and Palestinian Arabs (there are no Palestinian Jews anymore, as Palestinians exclude Jews from the definition) consider different aspects of living together, and how trends in such attitudes change.

Israel’s Future in Multinational Coalitions

By David Levy, BESA

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 2,176, January 30, 2023

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Washington will likely call upon Israel to participate in future multinational coalitions, which will entail IDF forces deploying to foreign countries as part of US-led operations. Israel has not participated in past coalitions due to regional threats and Washington’s desire to avoid complications with allied majority Muslim states. These two concerns were significantly diminished by the Abraham Accords, increasing the likelihood that Washington will seek Israel’s direct support in future campaigns.

Defense minister: Every terrorist will either go to court or the cemetery

T. Belman. “peace through strength” and “calm through force”. The end of appeasement is over, I hope. Terrorism is fueled by hope.  All hope for a TSS or for the destruction of Israel, must be dashed. Obviously the US and the EU by pushing for the TSS are fueling terrorism.

ZOA’s Mort Klein: Grandchild Clause is harming the Jewish state; eliminate it

T. Belman. Mort points out that due to the grandfather clause , the Jewish majority in Israel is shrinking 1% every three years. He also says eliminating it will not hurt US emigration to Israel as only 67 American non-Jews  made aliya under this clause in the last 10 years.

The Law of Return’s Grandchild Clause could be responsible for an ever-shrinking Jewish majority.

UKRAINIANS fleeing the war arrive on aliyah at Ben-Gurion Airport last year.

The Law of Return was intended to allow Jews an automatic right to become a citizen of the Jewish state.

But the 1970 amendment to Israel’s “Law of Return” – which allows non-Jews with only one Jewish grandparent, who is not defined as a Jew by any major Jewish movement, the automatic right to immigrate and become Israeli citizens – needs to be eliminated or modified.

The complex relationship between India and China is not a new matter, with the two countries constantly engaging in competition. Data-wise, China seems to be leading in aspects: territory, defense, budget, navy, and the middle class.

But according to estimates, this coming April India will snatch away from China the title of being the most populated country on Earth. For the first time since the 1950s, a country other than China will hold the title.

VERY GOOD NEWS ISRAEL

By Michael Ordman, VGNI

This week’s positive Israel newsletter is full of healthy facts and innovations. Israel’s subsidized medical treatments have just received a record annual increase of funds. There is news of current and potential treatments for Inflammatory bowel disease, bacterial infections, Parkinson’s disease, personalized medicine, and the aging process. No wonder that Israeli women are among the world’s healthiest. An Israeli charity looks after the health of the elderly; Sderot’s trauma center is a global model of resilience; and the hearing-impaired have a new Israeli app. Meanwhile, Israelis are helping to sustain farmers in India and relieve war-weary civilians in Ukraine.

The SS guards abandoned the guard posts surrounding Auschwitz during the night of 20-21 January 1945.<

At its height, in the summer of 1944, the Auschwitz complex, which comprised three basic camps — the main camp, Birkenau and Monowitz — and another 40 sub-camps, housed over 105,000 registered prisoners, mostly Jews, and around 30,000 unregistered Jewish inmates of so-called transit camps.

The default policy option: Chaos

Anarchy in the Palestinian territories poses a security problem for Israel, but as a temporary situation is not the worst-case scenario – and may have advantages.

By  Prof. Efraim Inbar

One of the challenges facing Israel’s new government is the potential for the collapse of the Palestinian Authority, bringing about a deterioration in the security situation.

PA leader Mahmoud Abbas seems unable to rule effectively, i.e., to maintain a modicum of law and order in the territories under his control. He lost Gaza to Hamas in 2007, and we now see the “Lebanonization” of the PA taking place in the West Bank: the emergence of a myriad of armed groups, with some displaying only limited loyalty to the PA, and others, especially the Islamists, trying to undermine the current regime.

by Majid Rafizadeh, GATESTONE  •  January 28, 2023

  • Iran’s mullahs have made significant advances by tripling their nuclear program’s capacity to enrich uranium to 60%, a short step away from the 90% purity required to build a nuclear weapon.
  • Iran is selling Russia drones and other material; is Russia “paying” for them by helping the mullahs complete their nuclear weapons undertaking?
