Russia has said that 63 of its troops were killed during a Ukrainian New Year’s Eve attack on a makeshift barracks in the partly-occupied Donetsk region.

The ministry said in a statement on Monday that Ukraine’s military had launched six projectiles at the “provisional base” in the eastern city of Makiivka using the HIMARS guided rocket system supplied by the United States.

Netanyahu might have to turn US policy on its head

T. Belman. In addition to these two challenges, this government is committed to seizing Area C for Israel  which includes massive building there and destroying illegal Arab construction.

Although Bibi has a veto on some of Smotrich’s plans, he won’t be able to restrain him entirely. It remains to be seen to what extent Bibi restrains himself or Smotrich for that matter.

In order to stop Iran, and on the way make peace with Saudi Arabia, Netanyahu may have to wait out President Biden’s administration.

By  Ariel Kahana, ISRAEL HAYOM

Amid the brouhaha of the past several days as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu put the final touches on his government, he also set his sights on two major personal foreign policy goals. The first is his life’s mission – to stop the Iranian nuclear project. The second – to strike a peace accord with Saudi Arabia and thus put a practical end to the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Over 333,472 Misdemeanors Committed in Kari Lake’s Election, But Trial Court Judge Shrugged Them Off

By Rachel Alexander, TOWNHALL, Jan 02, 2023,

Distrust in the justice system over its refusal to stop voter disenfranchisement is spiraling after Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson dismissed Kari Lake’s lawsuit challenging the results of Arizona’s botched midterm election, where Democrat Katie Hobbs was declared the winner. Hobbs was losing in almost every MSM poll and didn’t bother to debate Lake, prompting one of the most prominent progressive journalists in the state to denounce her hiding in her basement as “political malpractice.” Hobbs was such an unremarkable candidate that she has only 177k Twitter followers to Lake’s 834k followers, over 400% fewer.

Banana Republic?

Israel is basically being told by the US that its new government may not implement the policies on which it was elected. Oh, really?

Rabbi Steven PruzanskyCourtesy

After a series of American objections to Israeli policies (culminating in the annexation of the Golan Heights more than forty years ago) led to protests and suspensions of signed agreements with Israel, Prime Minister Menahem Begin called in US Ambassador Samuel Lewis and gave him a tongue-lashing:

“Are we a vassal state? Are we a banana republic? Are we 14-year-old boys who have to have knuckles slapped if they misbehave?” And Mr. Begin continued: “You cannot and will not frighten us with punishments… Threats will fall on deaf ears… We shall not allow a sword of Damocles to hang over our heads. The People of Israel have lived for 3,700 years without a strategic agreement with America, and will continue to live without it for another 3,700 years.”\

By Mudar Zahran, AMER THINKER

On 18 November 2022, Jordan’s king’s son and Crown Prince, Hussein, paid a visit to the wake of Abdul Majeed Thunibat, former leader of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood.  The visit was highly publicized by the state-controlled Jordanian media. The story about the visit of condolences was a front page item in most Jordanian daily papers and on all Jordanian news sites.  The king and his son were shoving the visit in everyone’s faces.

Netanyahu Government’s Legislative Tsunami Will Barrel Down on the Defense Establishment

T.Belman.  Doesn’t sound like a loyal opposition to me.

It’s easy for journalists to get sucked into trolling attempts and the reassuring messages of the new coalition regarding LGBTQ rights, but the real dangers are in a combined judicial revolution and military crisisPrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government being sworn in, Thursday.

By Amos Harel, HAARETZ  Jan 1, 2023

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government being sworn in, Thursday.

A decade ago, the documentary filmmaker Dror Moreh used the term “gatekeeper” to describe the role of six former heads of the Shin Bet security service in protecting Israeli democracy from terror threats and, paradoxically, from the ethical consequences of the war on terror. The use of the term in Israel has expanded since then, and is often invoked in regard to the struggle to maintain the independence of the legal system.

Klaus Schwab announces NEW plan to rule the world

D. Nussbaum. Santa Klaus Schwab and what his Globalist/Green/Woke wind-ups have planned and are implementing behind almost everyone’s back, deliberately not publishing all of what they plan for society on Mainstream Media. Elon Musk’s recent Twitter revalations are an example of the collusion between Globalist politicians and Globalist media giants in censoring important information that counters the elites’ narrative to short-circuit democracy. For the skeptics, go onto the World Economic Forum, look at their Leadership, Young Leaders, and groups they support to destroy independent countries from within. This is not information acquired from a “rightwing” source. It is from their own organizational Website. You can believe tyrants when the inform their “True Believers” what they plan to do. You can look around to see what they have done already.

VERY GOOD NEWS ISRAEL

By Michael Ordman

This newsletter publicizes new Israeli therapies that allow us to look forward to eradicating solid tumors; to safer spine operations; to printing spare parts for the eye and other organs; and the elimination of pathogens altogether.

We anticipate the future success of the Technion’s new sustainable research program; the worldwide adoption of Israeli drought-resistant crops; reduced food waste thanks to Israeli bio-friendly fruit preservation; and less vital resources spent on raising animals for their meat, thanks to Israeli plant-based alternatives.  The Israeli economy looks to have a bright future, with dozens of Israeli companies understanding the importance of partnerships to develop and implement new technologies; building more Israeli homes; new Israeli airline routes; and investment from novel international sources.

ZOA: There’s Nothing “Extreme” About Netanyahu’s Coalition

Netanyahu’s new coalition is dedicated to protecting Israel’s rights & safety. That’s not “extreme”.

ZOA President Morton Klein, Jan 1, 2023, 7:04 AM

The new government Amos Ben Gershom, GPO

The Zionist Organization of America congratulates Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu, his Likud party and his coalition partners on Netanyahu’s announcement yesterday that he will be able to form a coalition government. In these times, when Israeli citizens are being subjected to seven terror attacks perpetrated by Palestinian Arab terrorists every day, it is vital that Israel have a strong government such as the incoming coalition, which is dedicated to protecting Israel’s rights and safety.

The ‘rules-based international order’ is a myth

T. Belman. After writing  UNSC Res 242 and the Misrule of Law, I was reminded of this excellent post.  I am now working on a new article on this theme entitled “With Friends like America, who needs Enemies“. which is based on ignoring what the US says regarding Israel and focusing what they do and have done.

By Francis P. Sempa, AM THINKER

American foreign policy elites and their counterparts in allied countries, especially in Europe, repeatedly instruct us that diplomatic and military power should be used to “uphold” the “rules-based international order,” which has been defined as “a shared commitment to conduct international affairs in accordance with laws, principles and practices embodied in institutions such as the United Nations, regional security arrangements, trade agreements and multilateral financial institutions.”
