Israel government is new normal in the Middle East

T. Belman. Normally, I like what Goldman has to say but not so much this time. But I was intrigued by this remark;

Turkey’s realignment with Israel, the Gulf States and China creates a new security architecture in the region. Iran is marginalized, emphatically so after China signed a December 9 joint statement with the Gulf States admonishing Iran for supporting terrorist activity in the region, following Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Saudi Arabia.

New coalition signals normalization of Israeli politics in a China-led era of fast-shifting geopolitical sands

JERUSALEM—Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s new government is anything but the manifestation of extremism portrayed in most of the world’s media.

Typical of misreporting in the Western press was Le Monde’s December 28 assertion that “the new coalition gives pride of place to Jewish extremists and the ultra-Orthodox, who plan to weaken the judiciary and expand settlements.”

If American Jews “decide to remain apart,” antisemitism will rise to the point that “blood will be spilled,” said Harvard Pres Lowell IN 1922.

By

Dr. Rafael Medoff

If American Jews “decide to remain apart,” antisemitism will rise to the point that “blood will be spilled,” one of America’s most prominent educators reportedly warned, one hundred years ago this week.

That blunt and menacing demand was made by the president of Harvard University, A. Lawrence Lowell. It’s a reminder that the intense antisemitism in America in the 1920s was espoused not only by street corner bullies, but among some leading figures in the academic community as well.

How Britain Started the Arab-Jew Conflict

T.Belman. This is a propaganda video. It blames the Arab/Jew conflict on the British double dealings. In essence it claims Britain offered the Jews a national homeland in Palestine and the Arabs self determination and independence.  The Arabs felt betrayed because they expected to get one huge state. . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXfuqUhzESg

Strangely, although the Balfour Declaration,  Versailles Treaty, and the Sykes-Picot Agreement are all gone into, no mention was made of San Remo Res of 1920 at which the Jewish right to ownership of all of Palestine was confirmed in law. Also no mention was made of the fact that Jews were sovereign over these lands for 1000 years previously.(900BCE to 100 CE). The Arabs were subject to either French or British Mandates. Britain mollified them by giving Abdullah Transjordan contrary to San Remo.

Britain did not start the Arab-Jew conflict, Islam did, 1500 years ago. Britain caused the Arab/Israeli conflict by enabling the creation of Israel albeit reluctantly.

Jordan’s King is Weak and Fragile, Still, Hamzah Has No Chance

JaFaJ January 3, 2023

1. Summary: Jordan has been spiralling into unrest since early December. An ongoing national strike in protests of the King’s economic policies has blossomed into civil disobedience. In response, King Abdullah has recklessly dealt with those taking part in the strike (demonstrators), with the “heavy hand of oppression.” This has made the public more defiant and deepened the crisis. At the same time, some of the very few remaining loyalists to the King’s half-brother, Hamzah, have rekindled their hope of him replacing his brother as King. Still, Hamzah lacks any serious public support or access to either Jordan’s intelligence or army, therefore his chances of ever becoming King are null.

UAE, Saudi, others condemn Israeli minister’s visit to Jerusalem holy site

T. Belman. This is the first step in this governments path to reassert Jewish rights. We are in the right. They are interfering with our sovereignty. We must continue to defy them.

Ben-Gvir’s visit to the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif could hurt the new far-right Israeli government’s relations with Arab states and Turkey.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s visit to a contested Jerusalem holy site Tuesday has sparked a diplomatic outcry.

What happened: Ben-Gvir, a hardline politician, took office along with the rest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Cabinet last week. Almost immediately, Ben-Gvir began planning a visit to the Temple Mount, aka Haram al-Sharif. The site is holy to both Jews and Muslims and is a frequent flashpoint for Israeli-Palestinian tensions.

Protests in Jordan

T. Belman. No mention is made of Mudar Adnan Zahran but he will prevail.

Amid Protests In Jordan That Include Calls Against The King And Support For Prince Hamzah, Journalists And Former Ministers Warn: The Sense Of Resentment Is Unprecedented; The Authorities Must Adopt A New Approach

MEMRI

By H. Varulkar and Z. Harel

In early December 2022, a wave of protests broke out in Jordan, following a government decision to raise the price of fuel, which aggravated the already serious economic crisis in the country. The protests took the form of demonstrations, a truck drivers’ strike, general strikes and riots, especially in the southern parts of the country. This protest wave differed from previous ones by crossing an important line: on December 15, during riots in the city of Ma’an in southern Jordan, shots were fired at the security forces, killing the district’s deputy police chief, ‘Abd Al-Razzaq Al-Dalabih. Several days later, on December 19, three more police officers were killed while arresting suspects in Al-Dalabih’s shooting. The suspects, one of whom was also killed during the raid, were caught with extensive weapons and ammunition. The regime referred to them as “a takfiri terrorist cell,” although their militancy was probably motivated by the economic crisis.

Transgenderism: Definition, Prevalence, Treatment and Criticism

T. Belman. I was totally ignorant and decided to investigate. I could no longer turn a blind eye to the subject. I learned that “0.6%-0.7% of the U.S. population – identify as transgender” of whom, 25% undergo surgery.

“Most people who choose these surgeries experience an improvement in their quality of life. Depending on the procedure, 94% to 100% of people report being satisfied with their surgery results. In general, people who work with a mental health provider before surgery tend to experience more satisfaction with their treatment results.”

Sweden: The Suicide of a Nation?

T. Belman. I might add that as the number of Muslim immigrants rise in America and elsewhere, there is always a rise in antisemitism.

The fruits of multiculturalism.

For most of the 20th century, Sweden was held up as the very model of a modern welfare state: prosperous and peaceful, a example of social cohesion that was the product not of “diversity,” but of the very lack of “diversity.” That homogeneous Sweden is no longer. The description of quite a different Sweden, the result of more than 1.2 million immigrants, mostly from Muslim countries, can be found here: “Suicidal Sweden: Woman Gang-Raped in a Park by Five Teenage Syrian Muslim Migrants,” by Amy Mek, RAIR Foundation, December 26, 2022 (also, a Jihad Watch report on this incident, featuring a translation from a Swedish news source, is here).

Stealth Jihad is Alive and Well

By Eileen F. Toplansky, AMER THINKER

Thirteen years ago, the Center for Security Policy Press published Shariah: The Threat to America, Report of Team BII.  They pointed out that “[t]he most important entity promoting Islamic supremacism, shariah, and the caliphate… is the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), or in Arabic, the Ikhwan.”

Moreover, “The MB defined this form of warfare as ‘civilization jihad’ in its strategic document for North America [.]”

Final Acts of Nasty: Civil Administration Uproots Jewish Vineyard near Yitzhar

By David Israel, JEWISH PRESS

On Monday morning, the Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria, under the auspices of the Defense Ministry, uprooted a vineyard near the Yitzhar community in Samaria, following a petition submitted by PA Arabs to Israel’s High Court of Justice, Regavim reported.

The petitioners did not provide a smidgen of proof of ownership of the land on which the vineyard had been planted some four years ago, and yet the vineyard’s Jewish owners were handed a “Disruptive Land-Use Order,” a unique military order permitting the removal of agricultural assets even when no conflicting claim of ownership is submitted or proven.

Israel Must Limit ‘non-Jewish’ Immigration, New Aliyah Minister Says

The newly-appointed far-right Minister Ofir Sofer laments the number of immigrants arriving from Russia and Ukraine to Israel who are not considered Jewish according to an Orthodox interpretation

By Sam Sokol, HAARETZ 2.1.23

Complaining that the majority of new arrivals from Russia and Ukraine are not Jewish according to halakha, or Jewish religious law, newly-appointed Aliyah and Integration Minister Ofir Sofer declared on Sunday that Israel must take steps to limit non-Jewish immigration.

During an interview with national broadcaster Kan, Sofer asserted that the Law of Return needed to be amended, although he preferred “to find a way without legislation,” because some 40,000 out of 55,000 new immigrants from Russia and Ukraine are not halakhically Jewish.

Israel should put an end to Palestinian diplomatic terror

There is no better time than the brand-new Israeli government to state unequivocally that the rules of the game have changed.

Karma Feinstein-CohenCourtesy

With the approval of a United Nations General Assembly resolution requesting the International Court of Justice weigh in on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israeli “annexation” and the “legal status of the occupation”, Israel’s response has been underwhelming.

This is not just another largely meaningless UN resolution. It has the capacity to be the opening shot in a diplomatic war that could see serious ramifications and potentially lead to intense sanctions against Israel and some of its people.

Trump: I’m Not to Blame for the GOP’s 2022 Underperformance…But Here’s Who Is

By Guy Benson, TOWNHALL  3.1.23

AP Photo/Andrew Harnik

Former President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump opened 2023 by offering his explanation for why Republicans won fewer seats than expected in November’s midterm elections.  As Leah noted yesterday, Trump began his ‘Truth’ Social message with “it’s not my fault,” then proceeded to lay blame at the feet of pro-life voters and the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade.  Here’s the post itself, followed by commentary:

UN vote imperfect map of Israel’s friends – analysis

There were many countries that voted against Israel that Israel would consider “friends,” yet many ask, “what determines whether a country is a ‘friend’?”

Forget for a second the long-term significance and potential ramifications of the latest UN move to refer Israel’s “occupation, settlement and annexation of Palestinian territory” to the International Court of Justice for an advisory opinion.

It was clear once the resolution was brought to the UN it would pass, the only question was by how large a margin. For most people, all of these anti-Israel resolutions, after a while, seem the same and fade into the generic haze of “the UN is against us.”
