Mahmoud Abbas has been preparing the ground for his successor now that he has turned 90. He naturally favors his son — what doting father wouldn’t? — Yasser Abbas. Yasser is a multi-millionaire, who made his millions fair and square, by being awarded a monopoly on the sale of tobacco in the territory that the Palestinian Authority controls, and by owning a hugely successful contracting business in the same area. Today I continue my theme of Israel’s growing strength. And what better way to begin than with Yom Yerushalayim, which occurred this past Friday.
We celebrate on the anniversary of the day that Jerusalem was reunited with great bravery during the Six Day War of 1967: the third day of the war, which was June 7th. We celebrate the Hebrew date, 28 Iyar.
Indeed we were tough and resolute (amazing, actually) as we fought that war. And when we gained control of the Old City in eastern Jerusalem, where the Kotel (the Western Wall) and the Temple Mount are situated, we were then filled with joy and great gratitude. For 19 years Jews had been forbidden access to this area by Jordan.
They have been boycotted by Nations and nations of haters. Mostly by those who were unable to compete. And yet, the Jews still Kept Loving and Winning! They represent 1/10th of 1% of the global population. Fear them if you must.
Peloni: The Europeans have long demonstrated their lack of clarity and fairness as it relates to Israel, and in truth, they have never played the role of being a fair arbiter in the region. So it should surprise few that with the fall of Victor Orban’s govt in Hungary, with impressive immediacy, the Europeans moved to sanction what they perceive as their political opponents in Israel rather than merely violent actors. In truth, these same European powers act to do the same within their own borders against those they designate as the political opposition, so, again, why should we be surprised that these autocratic regimes are acting as anything but political belligerents in Israel. It has always been so, and will likely always be so.
I believe the recent European Union sanctions targeting Jewish organizations in Judea and Samaria reveal a broader political campaign against Jewish life and community building in the region.
This week, the European Union decided to impose sanctions on what it described as “violent settlers in the West Bank.” However, after examining the details of the sanctions, I believe it becomes clear that these measures are not primarily targeting violent individuals. Instead, they are aimed at law-abiding Jews and organizations deeply involved in building, defending, and advocating for Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.
Peloni: At some point, the reality that Iran will not submit to Trump’s terms will set in. Til it does, Iran will continue tapping Trump along with the help of its allies in Qatar, Iran, Turkey and Pakistan.
The IRGC has submitted yet another “final proposal” to the U.S., but it’s the same recycled draft demanding a full American withdrawal from the Middle East, sanctions lifted, frozen assets released, reparations paid, and the Hormuz blockade ended.
Peloni: As calls to ‘Free Gaza’ from around the world led to the creation of a 20 Point Plan, later officially introduced into UN Security Council Resolution 2803, the result has been anything but freedom in Gaza as its inhabitants have been re-interred under the same warlords which were elected in Gaza over twenty years ago. The effect of all of this has in fact left the people of Gaza to be trafficked, maimed, murdered, raped and, in all ways acknowledgeable by the norms of the modern world, abused as the cage in which they were institutionalized in a warped society with the single goal of weaponizing the public as a tool by which to attack Israel and the Jews. Statements made by Pres. Trump shortly after returning to office regarding the need to relocate the population of Gaza presaged a path towards real freedom for the people of Gaza, where they would not endlessly be tokenized as the antisemitic leverage which has become their fate in Gaza. And yet, while all the addle minded pro-Hamas provocateurs continue to scream for the rights of those in Gaza, their silence amid the re-encarceration of the Gazans under Hamas demonstrates the reality that only Israel has an interest in setting the Gazans free from their forced enslavement where they are subjected to a psychopathic motivation to simply kill Jews. This weaponization of the Gazan people, not their freedom, is what has been called for by those shouting ‘Free Gaza’, but also this is what has been effected by the famed and immensely flawed 20 Point Plan which has done anything but set Gaza free.

A new Israeli survey shows that the vast majority of people in the Gaza Strip are interested in emigrating from the devastated enclave, according to findings by Israel’s COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) seen by The Jerusalem Post and i24 News.
For years, European officials viewed Turkey’s growing defense industry as an important asset. Turkish drones proved effective in conflicts from Libya to Nagorno-Karabakh and Ukraine. Peloni: This article depicts an honest assessment of the outlook of the Qatari leadership. Even after relentless and unprovoked attacks from Iran, there can be no choice between Iran and Israel. Yet, these are the primary interlocutors being employed by the US as so-called peace negotiators acting on behalf of America. By using such third parties, it betrays the reality that the Qatari’s also choose Iran over America.

In an angry post on his X account on May 13, 2026, Hamad Al-Kawari, a Qatari Minister of State with rank of Deputy Prime Minister and director of the Qatar National Library, who formerly served as his country’s ambassador to the U.S., the UN, and France, responded to recent remarks by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who called on the Gulf states to choose between Iran, which attacks them, and Israel, which helps them.

Peloni: A highly recommended article. Dr. Alex Grobman discusses the import by which the inheritance and values which define and describe a nation must be conserved so as to see that these networking national definitions might be handed from one generation to the next, and along with it the national identity which ties the people, tribes and clans into being a single nation rather than as so many people, tribes and clans. The failure of not only the education system in America, but also so many of its institutions and political norms, have come to see America changing from a nation which cherished it core ethos to a nation caught in a struggle by which to maintain that ethos. The role of the Jews in American society play a crucial marker regarding the expression of the values under which the American Republic was founded, not because Jews control America as claimed by the manipulating forces on the faux Right and by nearly the entire Left in America, but because Jews flourish when rights are applied with equal measure to all citizens, something which has clearly changed as the political, judicial, social, and educational system in America has taken to choosing winners and losers based around arbitrary political connections rather than based upon a system which is derived from the concept of equal justice.
As America nears its 250th anniversary, the question is not whether the nation deserves applause for what it has achieved. It does. The question is whether Americans still understand and believe in what made those achievements possible

Peloni: The question remains why the elements of the ecosystem created by the Muslim Brotherhood which exists in the US, and those associated most intimately with Washington, ie the branches in Qatar and Turkey, have all thus far gone unaddressed. Notably, these chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood are far more dangerous to Americans, and to America’s ability to actually dismantle the metaphorical engine created by the Brotherhood. In fact, taking down the Muslim Brotherhood requires that it be dismantled at the source of its strongest aspect of power, and this is not in war torn Lebanon and Sudan, nor in Jordan and Egypt. It is in the Washington and across America where the greatest threat of the Muslim Brotherhood emanates for the world, and yet these aspects of al-Banna’s creation have thus far been left untouched, despite the damage they are doing to America, itself.
Western governments once thought the Muslim Brotherhood a firewall against jihadism, although it was one of its principal incubators. In the US, it is at last being treated as the ideological engine that helped power the jihadist century.

For decades, critics of the Muslim Brotherhood have described it as the ideological grandfather of modern jihadism: a movement that learned to operate as a religious revival, political party, social-service network, educational project, and revolutionary incubator at the same time.
Peloni: It is time for Trump to finally choose between the prospects and costs of grasping victory or accepting defeat. As Trump has noted many times over the past year while pursuing negotiations in between the two wars which were each used to pressure the Iranian regime to accept his terms, Iran can not have a nuclear weapon. The only question is whether Trump is going to follow thru on the commitment to stand behind these words, or to surrender to the resolute nature of Iran’s obstinacy. For my own thoughts, I still believe Trump will choose victory over defeat, but time will tell if this is true.
The Iranians are generating cash flow, planning for the future, and taunting Trump. It’s time for his patience to end.
Yesterday, we published Travis Lynch’s essay suggesting that Trump needs to fish or cut bait if he is to effectuate change in Iran. Right now, Trump is in what’s becoming an unstable holding pattern that creates the appearance, at least, that Iran has the upper hand. News today, though, suggests that (a) Iran has finally gone too far and (b) Trump knows it.
