Peloni:  It would appear that the Trump administration is attempting to try to outdistance the betrayal of the Jewish people made by the British when they arbitrarily created the first Arab Palestinian state over a century ago, thus violating the mandate granted to them by the Supreme powers.  Now, today, the Trump administration, going against the interest and support of the Israeli govt, are acting against the authority and mandate they themselves created in the 20 Point Plan, thus pursuing an altogether new set of parameters which includes the formation from whole cloth of a second Arab Palestinian state under the control of Hamas and/or the PA, ignoring the fact that both Hamas and the PA are institutionally committed to the destruction of the Jewish state.  The Trump administration’s commitment to double down on declaring “Peace In Our Times” comes at a cost for which only Israel will have to pay the Butcher’s Bill.  This contemptible charade, which only serves to mask an intent to permit further October 7 slaughters, must be entirely rejected.

Janet Levy:  While Trump’s initial 20-Point “Peace” Plan called for deploying hostile foreign troops between Israel and Hamas, the latest U.S.-sponsored U.N. resolution goes even further. It mandates a “ceasefire” between Israel and the Palestinians, regardless of Hamas violations. Additionally, it removes consequences for diverting and stealing aid.

The resolution in question offers a route to Palestinian sovereignty that is unconditional, provided the P.A. takes “credible steps toward self-determination and statehood.” It does not rely on negotiations between the parties but instead acts as a “one-sided” agreement that Israel is expected to uphold. The new plan essentially forces Palestinian statehood on Israel and sets clear standards and timelines for the IDF’s withdrawal from Gaza.

This essentially means the external determination of Israel’s security and future without its input and places the country directly under the supervision of the U.N. Security Council.

The Egyptian state is a stratokleptocracy — that is, the rule of thieving military officers. Peloni:  So as the American plan falls apart, they seem intent upon refusing to take responsibility for the policy failures which were in fact baked into the plan by the main authors, Kushner and Witkoff, who somehow saw their own lack of independence from Hamas-allied Qatar as some form of asset.  The lack of credibility in making such a protestation only lend itself toward the plan’s failure, whether this was intentional or not.  In fact, the plan thus far has resulted in the return of all but a few of the hostages, including all of the living.  The return of the hostages, however, was never the extent of the Trump plan.  That Trump would pivot towards so badly fumbling this initiative seems too impossible to accept.  Is this all an attempt to get the last remaining hostages freed?  Or is Trump so disingenuous as to reverse himself on the survival of Hamas intact from this war, something which he made clear that he clearly opposed from the very first interview he gave regarding the Gaza war, almost a year before he returned to the White House?  Are we to believe that he is so corrupt, so beguilable, so villainous, as to now support the complete destabilization of the region, when stability is exactly what will make the IMEC possible, while the IMEC remains a key factor to Trump’s China strategy?

Peloni:  The notion that Trump is acting to isolate Israel is evident from the fact that the proposed UN resolution was devised from input from all the Sunni states but none from Israel as indicated HERE.  Is this really where the Trump administration stands today?  It makes little sense if it is true.  For us to believe this, we would need to accept that Trump has folded on both his support for Israel, his opposition to Hamas, and his plans to engage China thru the development of the IMEC, of which a stable Middle East region is essential.  For us to dispute this, we would need to ignore everything that is actually taking place on the ground, in the region as well as in the UN.  Meanwhile Netanyahu is about to employ Trump’s support of Israel as the key pillar of his re-election plans which will take place in less than a year’s time or sooner.  Is Trump really a villain, and is Bibi really tying his political future to Israel being marginalized?

Toward Israel too, he maintains a low profile, and repeats again and again his desire to reach a security agreement with it that would ensure quiet along the border between the two countries.

Peloni:  The Gaza plan requires the defeat of Hamas.  In the face of such diplomatic ineptitude as evidenced in the plan negotiated by Witkoff and Kushner, only Israel has the means, the interest and fortitude to do what is needed, and only Trump stands in the way of them doing it, as Trump has stated himself.  If Trump’s hopes for something other than a Korea stalemate model in Gaza, he must finally step aside, stop negotiating with the Hamas butchers of his own citizens, and let this war finally come to its natural end.  His initial instinctive choice to move the war trained Gazans to Egypt, Jordan and elsewhere was an inspired vision constructed upon the need of addressing the brutality and savagery endemic in the Gazan population.  With the implosion of Kushner/Witkoff plan at the UN, the time is right to do what was always right, but the question remains to be answered if Trump will allow this to come to be.

• Russia Proposes Draft Resolution: Russia floated a draft UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution on the future of Gaza on November 13 that contrasts with a U.S. proposal to establish an International Stabilization Force (ISF) in the enclave. Moscow’s draft discusses examining “the options of [the] deployment” of the ISF in Gaza, while the U.S. draft calls for the explicit implementation of an ISF for a duration of at least two years, in line with U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point proposal. Additionally, the Russian draft does not mention Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace,” while the U.S. resolution “welcomes the establishment of the Board of Peace as a transitional governance administration” in Gaza.
