“Free Derry” is a famous area that declared itself “autonomous” in Northern Ireland’s second city between 1969 and 1972. The term originates from the writing painted on the wall of a building: “You are now entering Free Derry”. The name derives from its status as a “closed” area (no-go area) to British forces (British and Protestants called it Londonderry).
Who would have thought, fifty years later, that there would be other “no-go areas” in Europe?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that Israel needs the Palestinian Authority. Sorry, Mr. Prime Minister, but I respectfully disagree. And I don’t disagree with Bibi too often.
The PA is an epic failure. It doesn’t work for the Palestinians and it sure as hell doesn’t work for Israel. The PA was created by the Oslo Accords to be an interim authority for the Palestinian autonomous areas established by the agreements. Many assumed an independent Palestinian state would eventually replace it, even though the Oslo Accords never guaranteed statehood for the Palestinians.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly told members of his cabinet on Sunday that despite recent comments he made to international media, he has not fully backed away from passing some form of “override clause.”
In closed-door comments, Netanyahu reassured some ministers that he still supports a watered-down version of such legislation, but not an unlimited and all-encompassing bill as was initially proposed, according to a report Sunday by the Walla news site.

Israel told the US about Monday’s Jenin operation a week in advance, Israel Hayom has learned. Moreover, it made sure to explain to officials in Washington that the operation would be limited to Jenin in order to rout the terrorist hotbeds there.
This is the reason the US has yet to condemn the IDF activity. Israel has also pledged to carry out the operation in a surgical manner – similar to past raids – to avoid harming noncombatants as much as possible.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Monday afternoon said the Israeli army’s major operation in the West Bank city of Jenin was “progressing as planned,” according to remarks issued by his office.
“In the past few hours, we dealt a heavy blow to the terror organizations in Jenin and managed to record impressive operational achievements,” Gallant said following an assessment he held with military chief Lt. Gen Herzi Halevi and other senior officers.
He said the troops would “receive full support to do whatever is necessary and to operate on the ground and in the air, in order to protect the citizens of Israel and preserve full freedom of action throughout [the West Bank].”

While the Leftist-Islamic alliance is cracking elsewhere due to the Left’s determination to normalize gender delusions and fantasies and sexualize children, in France, it has the whole country aflame, and could conceivably bring about the end of the Republic. What is happening now in France was entirely foreseeable, but few dared foresee it, for fear of being called “racist,” “Islamophobic,” and “far right.” Once again those who have been smeared with such terms turn out to have been right all along.
JERUSALEM, June 27 (Reuters) – Israel should urgently examine how much natural gas the country should export to make sure it keeps enough for itself, a senior official at Israel’s Finance Ministry said in a letter seen by Reuters.
The country is expected to roughly double its gas output over the coming years and is weeks away from a highly-anticipated licensing round for new oil and gas exploration blocks offshore Israel.

The left in the US refused to recognized the election of President Trump in 2016 and made it very difficult for him to govern. The left in Israel is similarly not recognizing the election of this government earlier this year and are doing their utmost to prevent them from governing.
One of the rallying calls from the Marxist leftists and Democratic leadership (but then, I repeat myself) is: “We must save our democracy.” The veiled hint is that MAGA and Trump supporters, conservatives in general, and overall decent citizens are trying to take away ‘Our Democracy.’ Note one thing: they never define that democracy.
Examples: From his website, “. . . Chuck Schumer has never backed down in the fight to save our democracy.” (Emphasis mine.). In 2021, our paragon truth-seeker Adam Schiff introduced H.R.5314 – Protecting Our Democracy Act, which is nothing more than a tool to tie Trump’s hands if he does win in 2024 and probably will be ignored if he loses.

All reports that I have read blame the riots on “many young, especially people of colour”. No one suggests that the rioters are predominantly Muslim nor do they identify who is promoting the riots. This article points to “vexed questions about France’s dogmatic insistence on racial assimilation, secularism and a one-size-fits-all identity. An increasingly diverse republic, its changing character deeply influenced by the colonial past, is still officially colour-blind.”
Diversity is not a strength as many on the left suggest. But how do you assimilate Muslim immigrants or accommodate them. Most host countries yield to their demands but this is not the answer either.
The answer is ban Muslim immigration.

But some of the most revealing and insightful testimony came from Kendra, a resident of the Pablo Picasso estate in the Nanterre suburb of Paris, near to where the teenager was killed during a traffic-stop. There have been 21 fatal police traffic-stop shootings since 2020. Most of the victims were of black or Arab origin.

Here are five reasons to destroy Hezbollah in a surprise attack now:
#1. Superior results: By definition, a surprise Israeli attack minimizes the damage Hezbollah can cause before it is destroyed. In sharp contrast, if our forces only implement our battle plans after Hezbollah opts to compel us to act, Hezbollah will be the party geared to maximize damage.

War not involving Iran and others: A surprise Israeli attack buys the Jewish State precious time to benefit from carrying out operations in a single-arena or at most dual-arena (Lebanon and Gaza) conflict rather than the treacherously broad multi-arena conflict we could very well face if we allow Hezbollah to decide when the conflict starts.

Muhammad could neither read nor write. Therefore, he had to find people who could write down what he called his revelations from Allah. Several of these katibs (scribes) wrote down the surahs (chapters), eventually making up the Quran.

PARIS (AP) — Rioting raged in cities around France for a fourth night despite a huge police deployment and 1,311 arrests, with cars and buildings set ablaze and stores looted, as family and friends prepared Saturday to bury the 17-year-old whose killing by police unleashed the unrest.
France’s Interior Ministry announced the new figure for arrests around the country, where 45,000 police officers fanned out in a so-far unsuccessful bid to quell violence.
It’s been a busy two days as the Supreme Court ended its 2022-2023 term. The three most noteworthy opinions ended affirmative action (although with a dangerous caveat), limited executive authority to erase debt, and struck a blow for free speech. Because all three are completely normal in analysis and effect, they’re rather uninteresting. What’s more interesting are the dissents, which predict what a leftist-controlled future will look like.

These days, the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee is discussing the proposal to abolish the use of the reasonableness clause. This clause has been used many times by the Israeli court in recent years when it wants to invalidate various governmental decisions including civil servant appointments and even the awarding of the Israel Prize. The extensive use of this clause has received a lot of criticism among jurists and professionals; even Chief Justice Noam Solberg did so when he published a comprehensive article several years ago on the use of the reasonableness clause, explaining why it is a problematic tool and stating that it should be significantly reduced.
