Opposing extremism is not Islamophobic, despite what recent report suggests

Despite what some may like to believe, terrorism and extremism pose real threats to Canada and are not figments of my imagination

By Raheel Raza,  Special to National Post    11.1.23

A recently released report by Prof. Jasmin Zine, titled “The Canadian Islamophobia Industry: Mapping Islamophobia’s Ecosystem in the Great White North,” purports to provide insights into “how Islamophobia manifests and is purveyed” in this country. In reality, it paints a skewed picture of anti-Muslim bigotry in Canada, and tars wide swaths of people, including Muslims like myself, as racists.

In her report, Zine details what she calls the “Islamophobia industry,” which is enabled by “self-proclaimed Muslim dissidents, reformers and ex-Muslims,” who “act as instigators and propagators of anti-Islamic narratives as well as validating and authorizing the circulation of these tropes.”

Israel-Saudi Arabia and the Palestinian issue

Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger, “Second Thought: a US-Israel Initiative”  January 10, 2023<
>
Saudi order of priorities

*The State Department and the Western foreign policy establishment have contended that the Palestinian issue features prominently on the Saudi order of national priorities. Therefore, they have maintained that a substantial enhancement of Israel-Saudi cooperation – and certainly, the attainment of an Israel-Saudi Arabia peace treaty – would be preconditioned upon substantial Israeli concessions to the Palestinians, including the establishment of a Palestinian state.

After the Oslo Accords, the Jordan Option

By Ted Belman

I recently suggested Israel should terminate the Oslo Accords and deal with the violence that diplomatically and otherwise ensues.

That would bring us to the pre-Oslo days, which, by the way, was a time of good relations between the Arabs living in Judea and Samaria and Israelis. The Oslo Accords introduce the PLO terrorists into Israel at the behest of the Pres Clinton. Thereafter,  Israelis were subjected to one intifada after another and daily acts of terror.

I expect, In the coming weeks, King Abdullah II of Jordan will abdicate and Mudar Zahran will be installed as the leader of Jordan.

  • Saudi Arabia is not only one of China’s most important energy suppliers, but the kingdom is also an important link in China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) — a gigantic global development project… to enhance China’s global influence from East Asia to Europe by making countries worldwide increasingly dependent on China. Under the BRI, China has signed cooperation agreements with 20 Arab countries.

Months after felling coalition, settler law extension cruises through Knesset

Several opposition parties back the measure; ‘We are in opposition to the government, not the state and its essential interests’ says Gideon Sa’ar

By TOI STAFF     Today, 7:56 am

A routine measure extending emergency regulations for Israeli citizens in the West Bank flew through the Knesset on first reading early Tuesday, some six months after it became a major legislative battleground that helped bring down the previous government.<

The bill renews regulations that allow the state to impose criminal law and certain key civil laws — such as income tax and health insurance — to Israelis living in the West Bank. Originally enacted in the aftermath of the 1967 Six Day War, the law, which was last extended in 2017, remains an “emergency measure” that must be renewed every five years.

Likud MK drafting plan to apply Israeli sovereignty to Jordan Valley

Opposition parties Yisrael Beytenu and National Camp considering backing bid by MK Danny Danon to extend sovereignty over Jordan Valley.

MK Danny Danon is drafting a plan to apply Israeli sovereignty over the Jordan Valley, a move which would become the first move by Israel to extend its laws over parts of Judea and Samaria since the expansion of Jerusalem’s boundaries shortly after the Six Day War in 1967.

Danon, a former Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, will not be included in the new Netanyahu government, but will instead focus on drafting right-wing legislation – including a plan to push for full sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.

HUGE: Lead Author of Peer-Reviewed Research Re-Examining Pfizer and Moderna mRNA Vaccine Trials Calls for Immediate Suspension Due to Serious Adverse Events (VIDEO)

By Jim Hoft, GATEWAY

Dr. Joseph Fraiman calls for immediate suspension of mRNA COVID vaccine due to serious adverse events.

During a COVID-19 EU hearing last October, Pfizer’s President of International Developed Markets, Janine Small, admitted that the vaccine had never been tested on its ability to prevent transmission, contrary to what was previously advertised.

During the hearing, when asked by Dutch politician Ross if the Pfizer COVID vaccine tested on stopping the transmission of the virus before it entered the market, Janine Small responded while smiling,

From Israel: Give No Quarter!!

By Arlene Kushner January 9, 2023

The world is in horrendous shape. And yet, yet the focus is on us, here in Israel.

Now we are confronting widespread hysteria because our Minister of Public Security spent 13 minutes on Har Habayit. Thirteen quiet minutes. He didn’t announce the time when he would ascend so that the media could flock. He didn’t pray. He didn’t accost any Arabs. And as Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan pointed out, he entered via the only gate permitted to non-Muslims, at a time during which Jewish visitation is permitted (a sad commentary in-and-of itself – that there should be only limited times for Jews).

Why does the GOP elite hate its own base?

By John Dale Dunn, AMER THINIKER

What’s becoming undeniable is that core members of the GOP hate their base. We first saw this trend emerge during the Tea Party era. Heck, it even happened when Reagan, a populist, became president. The big question is why this is so.

Josh Hammer wrote a compelling piece, which I recommend, describing and detailing this phenomenon, but he doesn’t address the why of it. One would think that, to retain power, the old guard would begin to reflect its base’s interests, yet it doesn’t.

The Trump-McCarthy Leadership Team Emerges Stronger

By Dick Morris January 9, 2023

The GOP Leadership team for ’23-’24 of Donald Trump and Kevin McCarthy came out of the speakers fight in great shape. They will have to reenact their teamwork together many times before and after Trump is finally sworn in as president, but it was glorious maiden

It’s not just that Trump whipped his people into line as Pelosi would have, but he did so by reforming the process to make it more conservative, anti-spending, and transparent. Those who opine that McCarthy will emerge as a weakened speaker do not understand that democracy strengthens you. It does not weaken you.

The Beautiful People Hate ‘Ugly Israel’s’ New Government

By Daniel Greenfield, 08 Jan

In 1981, the Israeli Labor Party held an election rally in Tel Aviv. The Left hoped to wrest power back from Prime Minister Menachem Begin: the country’s first conservative leader who had unthinkably broken the socialist monopoly and opened up free enterprise to the public.

The Left pathologically hated Begin, calling him a fascist and a racist monster. They hated his supporters, poor middle eastern Jews, Holocaust survivors and traditionally religious Israelis, even more. At a Tel Aviv rally for the elites, TV star Dudu Topaz told the crowd that it was a pleasure to see that there were no middle eastern Jews here.

The European Union’s War on Israel

by Bassam Tawil, GATESTONE  •  January 9, 2023

  • A confidential leaked document, composed by the EU mission in east Jerusalem, shows that the Europeans are actively working with, and on behalf of, the Palestinian Authority to take over Area C of the West Bank — although the area was clearly agreed on, by both Israel and the Palestinians, until further negotiations, to be under Israeli control.

A senior State Department official lamented Jordan’s expected absence at the latest Negev Forum gathering of Israel and its Arab allies that will take place on Monday and Tuesday in Abu Dhabi.

Jordan will be the only Arab country with full diplomatic relations with Israel that will not be sending a delegation to the United Arab Emirates where, for the first time, interagency teams known as working groups will be gathering from the US, Israel, the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Egypt to discuss joint regional projects in a variety of fields.

The Biden administration does not view US–China competition in the Middle East as a zero-sum prize for one side to enjoy at the other’s expense. This measured response to China’s growing influence could change, however; outlined below are factors that could shift US policy toward great power confrontation in the region.
