Regavim is fighting and winning

REGAVIM

One of the core areas of Regavim’s activity since the movement’s founding has been the Israeli judicial system: Over the course of 17 years, we have submitted hundreds of petitions and published dozens of reports that illustrate the imbalance in our judicial system.

Our materials and analysis continue to play an important role in illustrating and explaining the need for reform – to the general public and its representatives in the Knesset and government. We congratulate Minister of Justice Yariv Levin and Chairman of the Knesset’s Constitution Committee Simcha Rothman for promoting the reform, and support their strong stance in the face of the hate-filled campaign that is threatening to thrust Israel into anarchy. Dive deeper here >>>

Avi Maoz: ‘The Left is about to complete its coup d’etat’- GREAT SPEECH

Head of Noam party decries decision to halt legal reform: ‘There’s no longer any point in going out to vote.’

     Mar 27, 2023, 2:04 PM (GMT+3)

MK Avi Maoz, head of the Noam party, has expressed his staunch opposition to any plan to halt the judicial reform program. In a Knesset speech on Monday morning, he described how backing down would hand victory to the elites and turn voting into an utterly futile exercise.

“What we are about to see here is the completion of the coup d’etat whose aim is to turn democratic rule in the State of Israel, based on government by elected officials, into a dictatorship of the elites, which in a cynical use of words designed to mislead and conceal calls what it is doing ‘fundamentally democratic,'”

The Real Meaning Of ‘Pro-Palestinian’

by Bassam Tawil, GATESTONE    •  March 27, 2023 at 5:00 am

  • Inviting Hamas and PIJ officials to participate in such events shows that the real aim of the so-called pro-Palestinian groups is not to help the Palestinians, but to incite and spread hate and libels against the only democracy in the Middle East: Israel.
  • [I]t sends a message to the Palestinians that the students and professors at the universities around the world support terrorism as a means to kill Jews and destroy Israel.

Reaching a Just and Lasting Peace in Ukraine: Jeffrey Sachs

T. Belman. Sachs argues that the war didn’t start a year ago as the West suggests. It started shortly after the disintegration of the Warsaw Pact. He cites the promises made to curtail NATO, the growth of NATO, the attempted CIA coup in Belarus, the Maidan Coup, the build up of the Ukrainian army thereafter, the bombing of Donetsk and the sham of the Minsk Agreements.

In his suggested Peace Agreement, he doesn’t allow for Russia to keep the four provinces. The most he will give them is a long term lease of Crimea. I think he is wrong in this.

Is Russia Communist?

History » Ask HON »

With its national identity linked to communism for nearly a century, and its weak foundations of democracy in the 21st century, many will inevitably wonder: Is Russia communist?

The answer is no, Russia can no longer be seen as a communist country. The communist Soviet Union ended on December 26, 1991. Communist ideologies have, however not totally come to an end in the new, capitalist Russia.

The Israeli defense minister’s shameful retreat

Prominently on display in Yoav Gallant’s speech were two traits that make him unfit for his job: cowardice and betrayal.

By Ruthie Blum

To borrow the favorite epithet of the demonstrators in the streets of Tel Aviv and other cities, “shame” on Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. In an announcement on Saturday night, the Cabinet member charged with the country’s most crucial portfolio called on the government to halt its judicial reform legislation and heal the rifts that have gone so far as to reach the military.

“I hear the voices from the field and I’m worried,” he said, while also urging the opposition to stop the protests to give negotiations a chance. Oh, and to “enable the nation to celebrate Passover and Independence Day together, and to mourn together on Memorial Day and Holocaust Remembrance Day.”

When protesters throw around the word dictatorship

The demonstrators speak of “dictatorship” while the current situation is one in which we are ruled by a small group of unelected oligarchs that has concentrated unrestricted powers of governance in its hands.

1. The compromise proposed with regards to the composition of the judicial selection committee is a good one. If the opposition does not wish to engage in dialogue, then we must talk with the voices coming from within the opposition. Our sages have said after all that man does not leave this world having achieved even half of his desire.  Judicial review of Basic Laws by the Supreme Court will lead to a constitutional crisis – one that those sowing the seeds of chaos seek to bring about.

The Russo-Ukraine War: Possible Lessons for the IDF

By March 26, 2023

BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 2,189, March 26, 2023

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The war in Ukraine is an example of modern high-intensity warfare. As such, it offers a number of lessons that can be learned about the capabilities, limitations, and requirements of armies conducting such warfare. New technology and methods have added capabilities, but have not rendered more traditional methods of warfare and technology obsolete. The IDF should learn to merge the new with the old by acquiring competence in new technology and tactics while maintaining technical and tactical competence in the veteran ”basics”.

Can Israel Survive?

BY DAVID SOLWAY, PJ MEDIA       9:10 PM ON MARCH 25, 2023

Courtesy of Myra Kahn Adams

It has never been easy for Israel — the understatement of the century — from the moment of its establishment in 1948, when it was invaded by five Arab armies, to the present day, when it is facing multiple threats to its very survival. It suffers a history like no other nation in the world, surrounded by enemies, fighting wars on every front, infiltrated by terrorists, confronting the wetware dreams of genocidal regimes, in particular the prospect of a nuclear Iran sworn to the country’s annihilation, and subject to an international delegitimation campaign carried out via the United Nations, the World Council of Churches, spurious NGOs and “peace” organizations, labor unions, university campuses, and a hostile European Union.

American Tyranny? Perfectly Normal

By Peggy Ryan, AM THINKER

Immediately after the 2016 election, the order went out: never let Trump’s presidency be normalized.”  Huh?  So someone controls what’s normal and what’s not?

Actually, yes, the leftist insurgency can and does control what’s normal, or at least what’s perceived as normal.  In fact, normalization is arguably the lefts most powerful tool to control behavior,, herd the populace, even impose a tyrannical government.
